On Saturday June 1, the Diversity Coalition attended the first 5 Cities Hope Pride Festival held at Heritage Park in Arroyo Grande.  The Coalition proudly exhibited at its booth among numerous other local social justice and activist organizations such as the 5 Cities Homeless Coalition,  as well as the Arroyo Grande City Police.

May 22-23, 2019

On Wednesday and Thursday May 23rd, the Coalition hosted its first "Community Diversity Education and Training Program event in the San Luis Coastal School District.  At Morro Bay High School, Paul and Marion Wolff, local residents and Holocaust survivors presented their life stories to three separate Morro Bay High classes.  Each of the Wolffs -as children-suffered under Nazi tyranny.  This presentation was attended by Morro Bay High students taking either World History and/or American History.

On Thursday May 23rd, at the quarterly Diversity Coalition Community Outreach meeting, Jessica Lynn, a world-renowned transgender advocate, educator, and activist appeared as he evening's keynote speaker.  Her experiences as a transgender woman and parent led her to dedicate her life to spreading awareness and acceptance for gender non-conforming communities around the world.
